Grilled Skewered Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 cup (150g) chopped onion
- 2 med. garlic cloves
- 1/3 cup (125g) chopped fresh parsley
- ½ tsp (2g) ground cumin
- ½ tsp (2g) dried Greek oregano
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Serves 2-4
Step 1 - Mix the Meat
- Mix the onion, parsley, garlic, herbs and salt/pepper in food processor.
- Combine the meat and ingredients from food processor and mix thoroughly.
- Refrigerate the mixture for 1-2 hours.
Step 2 - Form the Skewers
- Divide mixture into 3 oz (90g) portions.
- Flatten the portions into a rectangle.
- lay a skewer in the middle of the flattened portion.
- Wrap the meat around the skewer into a large "cigar" shape.
- Press firmly around the skewer.
Step 3 - Grill the Meat.
Heat a charcoal or gas grill to medium high.
Grill for about 5 minutes, then turn over for 3-4 minutes.
Serve with toasted pita bread and tzatziki sauce.
